A Global Art Destination in Your Backyard

Imagine a ski resort designed as a living canvas by some of the most visionary contemporary artists of our time. Picture chairlifts gliding past monumental sculptures, lodges framed by sweeping land art installations, and magic carpets that are functional thought-provoking conceptual pieces. At Powder Haven, this vision is becoming reality.
Last month, we unveiled an ambitious new chapter in our development: the creation of a skiable outdoor art museum, a first-of-its-kind destination where recreation meets fine art on a grand scale. This immersive experience will feature large-scale, permanent works from acclaimed artists including James Turrell, Nancy Holt, Paul McCarthy, Jenny Holzer, EJ Hill, and more, each uniquely sited to interact with the mountain’s dramatic topography and ever-changing seasons.
But this isn’t just about placing art on a mountainside, it’s about reimagining the very fabric of what a mountain resort can be. From lifts and lodges to trails and lookouts, every element of Powder Haven’s infrastructure will be reconceptualized through the lens of art and design, transforming the entire landscape into a curated experience that inspires awe, reflection, and discovery.
A Lasting Commitment to Art and Culture
We are proud to realize these efforts through the Powder Art Foundation, a newly formed non-profit committed to preserving the legacy of land art while championing the voices of contemporary creators. The foundation will serve as the steward of our growing collection and the driving force behind future artistic endeavors at Powder Mountain.
One of its flagship initiatives is the development of an open-air museum and sculpture park, where visitors can engage with site-specific artworks embedded throughout the terrain. These pieces will be carefully integrated into the natural environment, inviting guests to explore the intersection between human creativity and alpine beauty—whether on foot, skis, or mountain bikes.
Accessible to All, Enriched for Residents
We believe that art is for everyone. That’s why the museum and sculpture park will be free and open to the public during summer and fall months. In the winter, visitors can enjoy the collection while skiing or snowboarding with a valid season pass or lift ticket.
For Powder Haven homeowners, the experience goes even deeper. Residents will enjoy exclusive access and special invitations to private viewing hours, exhibition openings, artist talks, and curated cultural programming throughout the year, offering a rare opportunity to connect with the creative minds shaping the global art world today.
